Nice light, but not a very exciting picture — then again it was not a very exciting day. I did quite enough over the last 48 hours thank you very much. Anyway, happy Friday — hope you have a good weekend.
September 2016’s first day was not an eventful one but it was perfectly decent — and ended very well.
Beautiful morning in Manchester. Took two or three photos I was happy with, but all of them before 8.50am; after emerging from a day at work the light had mostly gone. Anyway it’s about time I acknowledged a morning again, after 12 consecutive afternoon shots. The sign points into (or away from) the entrance to Café Muse at the Manchester Museum.
One for the occasional series, “machines enjoying doing their jobs”? (A previous entry here….). Or just an additional depiction of the rebuilding of Manchester’s entire city centre? If theories of capitalism and ‘creative destruction’ are right, by 2050 this could become the world norm.
A shot from Manchester prior to 9am? I must be back at work. What statement this guy is trying to make outside the ‘Burger and Lobster’ bar I don’t know, but I like it.
Not a bad morning for it, though there was rain later. This is never going to be a position you ever see me in, by the way.
Well, my summer holiday hasn’t finished yet, so there’s scope yet for more of this kind of thing. I could say this is a typical English seaside scene, but actually we’re in Wales — Llandudno in fact. First impressions: it’s like Aberystwyth, but bigger and with lots more Liverpudlians.
Back home, and from one of the world’s major historical waterways (the Tagus) to another (the Hebden Water) that is maybe not as significant, but still as photogenic in its own way. We could have done with better weather though — as has been true for two months — which may explain the expressions here.
Some people insist on doing this kind of thing every day on their holidays. I have never been one of them, but occasionally I indulge. Pictured at Praia da Rainha (Queen’s Beach), Cascais.
