St. Peter’s Square tram stop

Thursday 6th April 2017, 9.00am (day 2,051)

Tram stop, 6/4/17

A decent run of morning shots in recent weekdays. I like this shot because of the general yellowness but then contrasted with the blue of the woman, and the lines up the middle and across the bottom. Composition then, I guess.

New tram lines, St. Peter’s Square

Thursday 3rd November 2016, 9.05am (day 1,897)

Tram lines, St Peter's Square, 3/11/16

Another shot of Manchester’s slowly developing transport infrastructure — but I’m in Manchester a lot this month, so get used to it. Anyway, I like this one, particularly as I didn’t have to crop it at all, so got the symmetry just right when the shutter was pressed. A kind of ‘played for and got’ moment.

St. Peter’s Square

Tuesday 5th January 2015, 2.35pm (day 1,594)

St. Peter's Square, 5/1/16

The building works in St. Peter’s Square, Manchester, do not seem to have advanced a huge amount since they were pictured nearly a year ago (26/1/15). Tuesday 24th February 2015, 9.00am (day 1,279)

St. Peter's Square, 24/2/15

No commentary today… I just like the composition, the colours, lines and shapes, and that I got it nice and sharp.

St. Peter’s Square building site

Monday 26th January 2015, 5.00pm (day 1,250)

St. Peter's Square, 26/1/15

Sometimes one must just acknowledge that all the pictures taken on a given day were a bit crap one way or another. This at least epitomises the fact that most of Manchester city centre is currently a building site. Don’t get used to seeing it though — the rest of the week I’m at home, marking. Things will liven up again soon I hope.

The Terminator’s pet T. Rex

Thursday 16th February 2012, 5.20pm (day 175)

Metal dinosaur, 16/2/12

Sensational happenings in St Peter’s Square, Manchester city centre, this evening, as this photographer snaps undeniable proof that we have, indeed, been attacked by killer robots from outer space. I would have stuck around to collect marketable shots of the aftermath, but I had to go home for my tea. (There are more on Facebook, if you are interested.)
