The dentist’s hands

Thursday 2nd October 2014, 4.20pm (day 1,134)

Dentist hands, 2/10/14

The biannual trip to the tooth doctor is usually good for a pic — if only because it’s a well-lit activity. This is at least the second time Joe has been pictured mid-examination and I think I got one of myself in once, too. The next visit is in March, if you notice this kind of thing.

Clare, writing

Saturday 7th June 2014, 5.20pm (day 1,017)

Clare writing, 7/6/14

Pictured in the Railway. I need to find variety; day 1,000 came towards the beginning of a full month of time, 31 days (16th May – 15th June) where I will only have one photo outside Hebden Bridge and Manchester, on 29th May. Motivation to keep this blog going comes from the different places I visit, but I also like finding the different shots from familiar territory as well.

Still life (nearly)

Friday 5th October 2012, 12.25pm (day 407)

Fruit bowl, 5/10/12

Post-lunch pickings on the second day of the staff development workshop I have been running at the University of Bergen. The strawberries and pineapple slices have disappeared, the grapes are going down well but no one seems to be going for the lychees. This is the second disembodied hand of the week, I note.

Baby slug

Monday 23rd July 2012, 6.45pm (day 333)

Baby slug, 23/7/12

Joe was on the first weekday of his summer vacation from school. I’m still at work for another three weeks, however, before I get my summer break. Didn’t get out much today: the best photo opportunity was this visitor, who came in one a lettuce that – against all the odds – has managed to grow into an edible state (for more than one species). Slugs grow up into unpleasant, irritating creatures, but this baby was cute enough in its way.
