Rodent in Tavistock Square

Thursday 22nd March 2018, 3.05pm (day 2,401)

Tavistock squirrel, 22/3/18I could have picked a photo to epitomise my day in London, which was spent entirely in one meeting room in the Friends’ Meeting House near Euston. A productive meeting generally, but not photographically.

Upper Woburn Street

Saturday 26th September 2015, 10.40am (day 1,493)

Upper Woburn St, 26/9/15

London is a vast city, too big to get a handle on as a whole, but one can find bits of it to identify with, become familiar with. Bloomsbury is definitely my bit. This street scene is taken just to one side of Tavistock Square, which has appeared on several occasions previously. The building is the HQ of the British Medical Association (BMA), one of the more powerful professional associations in the land. A beautiful morning, as many of them have been lately.

Hot in the city

Wednesday 1st July 2015, 12.40pm (day 1,406)

Hot in the city, 1/7/15

For me there’s something kind of suburban or small-town about ice cream vans, so it’s nice to find one in the centre of one of the biggest cities in Europe. Good idea today though, it was very hot and humid in London, and indeed elsewhere today.

Tavistock Square

Tuesday 2nd June 2015, 3.35pm (day 1,377)

Tavistock Square, 2/6/15

This very pleasant square is where I am currently working when I am in London (well, on one of the buildings which border it, anyway). The statue is of Mahatma Gandhi and has been there since 1968. The other model was probably just passing through.
