The boxers

Saturday 7th February 2026, 8.00am (day 5,280)

Boxers, 8/2/26

Not necessarily the kind of thing one expects to see on opening the curtains in the morning, but I guess that’s what happens when one’s room overlooks the gym of the hotel next door. This is the first time boxing has been depicted on the blog actually in progress, but the tags allow me to connect this with a group of Albanians seen some 12½ years ago…. whither them I wonder?

Me in Waterside Gym, Hebden Bridge

Wednesday 5th October 2011, 9.20am (day 41)

Me in the gym, 5/10/11

An utterly uneventful day, spent working at home – dull light, nothing particularly to see. Struggled for inspiration photo-wise, so for the first time in the 41 days I’ve been doing this (blimey, is that all?), you can have a self-portrait. Apologies. There won’t be many more.

Waterside Gym, Hebden Bridge

Tuesday 30th August 2011, 9.00am (day 5)

Waterside Gym, 30/8/11

So far there are no other people in these photos. To me places are more interesting when they are quiet. I like being first one in the gym in the morning, but don’t think I do it because I am particularly keen: more the case is that if I don’t do it first thing, I don’t do it. And I need to do it.
