One of those shots where if I’d had any longer to think about it, it probably wouldn’t have turned out as interesting. But this hat — attached to a person of course, but they’re not the subject of the photo — was spotted passing below my house today, and I just got the shot before they walked on into the shadows.
Although this is similar to a photo I did last weekend let’s include it anyway, as it does depict the most fun part of the day, and I also wanted something today that encapsulated something about my home town — seeing as this is the 1,000th Hebden Bridge photo to appear on here in the near seven years I’ve been going. The town maintains a fairly constant rate of appearing on about 40% of the days.
If you do like The Blues Brothers by the way, do seek it out on the big screen: the sound is just so much better and so the music (which is the point of the movie after all) comes alive. Highly recommended.

Here’s how to play the hat throwing game. Take two four year olds, one hat, and a stairway. Have the four year old at the top throw the hat down to the other. Change places, and repeat for quite a long time.
We went to Haworth for a Sunday out but the weather was pretty foul so it was a day to spend time indoors. Nobody wanted a hat, particularly. But check out the freaky eyes on this dummy.
