I know nothing of Marvel iconography. OK, I suppose that’s possibly Captain America centre left but that’s as far as I am taking it. So quite who the guy on the right might be, I don’t know, but he looks pissed off enough: if I was the too-relaxed figure in white in front I would be worried.

Superhero snowplough

Superhero snowplough, 19/4/25

My Easter Saturday trip out found me in the Locomotion museum in Shildon, Co. Durham, at 10.30ish. This snowplough looks almost absurdly macho, like it’s Thor’s snowplough (Marvel Comics version). Look at the light beams that shoot off as it steams along! The watching human simply stands in awe and wonder as it zooms past. “Me? Put ME in a museum!? The impudence!”

Potatoe insult

Bird is a potatoe, 2/9/21

There are so many questions begged by this corner of Calder Holmes Park that I don’t even know where to start. Who is ‘Bird’? Why is s/he called that? Is the superhero graffito connected in any way? What have they done to deserve being called a ‘potatoe’ and has Dan Quayle been involved?
