The first time I went to Rose Bruford College in Sidcup, Kent, was on 22nd May 2012. Over the subsequent five and a half years its campus, and Lamorbey Park, in which the grounds reside, has produced some decent nature photos, including fly agaric, a couple of rather cute swans, and a parakeet amongst others. But, sadly, today was probably my last visit; so here’s the last in the series.
This blog has featured three photos taken in this park, each on one of my biannual trips to Rose Bruford College in Sidcup, one of the University of Manchester’s collaborative partners — the park and the college grounds are all basically the same place. I like Lamorbey Park, one of those ‘nice spots’ that the world still retains. Among its interesting and attractive birdlife are a colony of parakeets, clearly escaped pets, and unconcerned by the imminent winter despite their tropical origins. I know this is another out-of-focus shot, but the light was so dull and grey today, and in the end I was happy enough with the exotic fauna to live with the picture’s technical defects.
Worked today at Rose Bruford college, a partner of the University of Manchester, located in Sidcup, near London – the epitome of suburbia. No hardship to be down there today, however: a glorious, sunny late spring day.
I should also point out that about 10 seconds after I had taken this picture, another student came and tipped a bottle of water over this girl’s back. Sweet.
